Charlie is enflamed, almost demonic, fuming in the dark.
CHARLIE
Not again. I won’t be erased.

PANEL
Lights suddenly turning on and Charlie is just as suddenly transparent and back to normal, looking startled: Perhaps because of the lights turning on or perhaps because of the sound of her name. Fay is helping Ed climb up into the Backstage. She has a package under her arm. (Or is she accepting the packaging from him before he climbs up?)
ED
Charlie?
FAY
Yeah. It took some digging, but I found some old newspaper articles from before the fire.

PANEL
Charlie watching as Fay is hanging a framed star on the wall in her room. (Black sheets on bed? Purple flowers in vase?) Also in the frame is a small square under the star. Ed is kicked back on her bed looking on sardonically.
FAY
There.
ED
Isn’t that a bit... Morbid?
FAY
The stars only shine because they are surrounded by the darkness.

PANEL
Charlie leaning in getting a closer view, ready to cry/happpy. In the Frame is her star, somewhat restored and framed over a black and white picture of her from a paper, the headline reads “A bright star on the rise.” Inscribed under the star and over the clipping it reads “Charlene “Charlie” Briggs.” From offscreen Fay and Ed are still talking.

So, what happened to her?
FAY
No idea. The papers said she left town. There was some scandal with her fiancé after, but I couldn’t find anything else about her...
